Indigo Workshop was founded in the south-west of England, in the small but historically important town of Bath. It all began with Si Bright, a British-born artisan with a knack for turning wrenches and shaping wood, who in childhood showed an artistic flair.

 

Through his teenage years and into his 20’s, Si developed practical skills which allowed him to literally make his dreams a reality - this started with classic cars. Si qualified as a vehicle mechanic, then gained a Degree in Mechanical engineering at university. He also gained other skills, working with plaster and hessian to create the ornamental plasterwork that adorns so many Georgian-era stately homes throughout the UK. Over half a decade was then spent as a test-driver and quality-assurance engineer for Nissan in Europe. Later, he set up on his own, and became involved once again in restoring historic properties in the English counties of Somerset and Wiltshire.

Drawing inspiration from his European roots but loving the culture (and, of course the weather) of Southern California, Si envisioned a space where he could spend his time imagining and creating for a market that would really appreciate his journey. Thus, Indigo Workshop was born—a sanctuary where Si's passion for design and his love for creating beauty intertwine seamlessly.

Si now has decades of experience restoring historic buildings, rebuilding classic cars and re- modelling homes. Each of these areas requires not only technical know-how and honed techniques, but also artistic flair, a vision for design, sympathy for materials and their application and a general ‘feeling’ of proportion and composition.

From the rustic charm of reclaimed wood to the sleek elegance of polished surfaces, every creation that emerges from Indigo Workshop is a testament to Si's dedication to his craft.
